Our Values

Our Values

God's Glory

We exist to glorify God in all that we do. There is nothing more important in our lives than God. We believe that we have ultimately been created to enjoy the Creator and experience His glory in every aspect of our lives; in our work, our affliction, our joy, and our worship.

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."   (1 Corinthians 10:31)

Gospel

The Gospel story is a message of hope that has redeemed us from the condemnation of sin and continues to transform our lives as we seek to become more like Christ. It is also the good news that we bring to the world so that their lives may be transformed as well. We believe that the salvation found in this message is a gracious gift from God that we have not earned but joyfully receive. The Gospel message is a central to everything that we do and an essential part of who we are.

"But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ, even when we were dead in transgressions; it is by grace you have been saved."   (Ephesians 2:4-5)

Scripture

We believe in the truth, power, and authority of scripture in our lives. God's Word is our anchor and guide to knowing God and living the Christian life. The Bible is God-breathed and able to uniquely speak into each person's life and corporately lead the church according to God's will.

"All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."   (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Unity

We are unified around the Gospel, unified by our vision to love, grow and serve, and unified by these shared values. We are eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Unity is an essential component of a healthy and growing church body.

"Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind."  (Philippians 2:2)

Discipleship

God's vision for the church is to go out and make disciples. This is foundational to everything that we do. Discipleship begins with bringing new people into redeeming faith and adopting them into the family of God, the church. But it continues as the body of believers experience spiritual growth through the power of the Holy Spirit and with the support of the church community.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."  (Matthew 28:19-20)

Community

The church is made up of a community of believers, a group of people who are intricately connected by the power of the Gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit. We believe that spiritual growth and Gospel transformation happen best in the context of community. Our ministries are designed to facilitate love, growth, and service to the church body and to our neighbors in this context, so that we may spur one another on towards Christ.

"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the Day approaching."  (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Service

Jesus commanded that we should love our neighbor as we love ourselves, and we believe that the best way to do that is by offering radical hospitality and humble service to all people. We desire to especially minister to those in need of spiritual life, but also to those with physical and other needs. In this way we will glorify God, love our neighbor, and see our community transformed.

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."  (John 13:34-35)

"Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind."  (Philippians 2:2)

Leadership Development

Leadership Development
We believe that one of the primary functions of the church is to raise up and equip qualified, Godly leaders. Our aim is to develop Christ-like character, Biblical knowledge, and ministry skills in all who are willing and able to lead, so that the Kingdom of God can be spread far and wide. We also desire to grow and develop the unique gifts, talents, and abilities given to each person in the body of Christ to strengthen the church and maximize our ability to bring the Gospel message to the world.

"We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God."  (Colossians 1:9-10)

Stewardship

God has generously gifted the church body with many things including: the Gospel message, individual gifts and talents, physical resources, and time. We believe that we are managers or stewards of everything that we have but God is the true owner. As such, we desire to manage well what has been placed in our trust so that when the owner returns we can be called, "Good and faithful servants." We also believe that good stewardship will bless the church by keeping it healthy and bless our neighbors by helping us reach as many people as possible with the good news of the Gospel.

"This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. 2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful."

(1 Corinthians 4:1-2)

Outreach

We believe that God has called us to bring the hope of the cross and the kingdom of God to our families, our neighbors, our community, our region, and to the world. Our first priority is to our neighbors and community. We hope that our region will be impacted by our local efforts and our development of leaders who are equipped to go out. We also desire to reach the world through strategic partnerships and sacrificial giving of time and resources.

"Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples."  (Psalm 96:3)
