What Is The First Baptist Church Foundation?
The First Baptist Church Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) organization established for the sole purpose of furthering the ministries of CrossRoads Church through both short and long-term financial support.
Why does our church need a Foundation?
A Foundation can provide for things such as capital expenditures, facilities maintenance, and repair and renovation of church property, which are not addressed in the operating budget of the church. A Foundation provides financial resources for the perpetual support and enhancement of our Church’s outreach and ministry programs.
Why is the Foundation separate from the Church?
The Foundation exists separate and distinct from the budget of the Church, intended to serve the ministry of our congregation now and beyond our lifetimes. The Foundation was established to receive and manage gifts and bequests for the perpetual support and enhancement of our Church’s ministries.
How can gifts be made?
Individuals may contribute cash, securities, personal property, or real estate. Other options for donors are planned gifts, bequests and will provisions, charitable trusts, gift annuities, and paid-up life insurance policies. The Foundation is often better equipped than the church itself for the receipt and management of non-cash gifts. Another example of where the Foundation can facilitate special giving opportunities is for some of our senior generation (73 and older) that receive Required Minimum Distributions from IRA’s and 401K’s. The Foundation can serve as a way to pass those “RMD’s” on as gifts without a tax implication.
