BUILDING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - 2026

During the 2026 Annual Meeting on April 26th, a motion was made and approved for a Building Improvement Project that requires fundraising to complete. The goal is to raise $350,000 in faith commitments, over and above tithing to the general budget to be paid over three years, which will be used for roof replacement as well as sanctuary updates.

Prayerfully consider how you and your family can be a part of helping us reach our fundraising goal of $350,000. Pledges can be made by filling out a paper pledge form and returning it to the church, or via the "Click here to Pledge" link at the top of this page. Pledges should be returned by June 8, 2026. The goal is to complete the sanctuary updates in August 2026 and the roof in the summer of 2027.

Gifts can be given any time throughout this time period by indicating "Roof/Sanctuary Fund"on either the memo line of a check , written on an envelope containing cash, or online through One Church Giving (click here).

What is the Building Improvement Project?

Roof Replacement and Repair

  • Why: The roof has come to the end of its anticipated lifespan. There have been many leaks throughout many sectors of the building in the last few years, including a significant leak in the lobby just a few weeks ago.

  • Properties Council has received a wide range of budget estimates from multiple contractors to conduct a complete replacement and repair of the flat roof. Note: The peaked roof over the sanctuary is not included in this project.

  • Based on received estimates, Properties Council Recommends raising $260k to complete the project.

  • Final bids will be conducted in fall 2026, because providing bids nine months out from the project is a standard practice for this type of project.

  • The plan is to complete this project in the summer of 2027.

Sanctuary Updates

The plan is to complete this project in August of 2026.

A Sanctuary Committee was formed by the Overseers over the winter to seek bids from contractors and work together on project proposals. Also a church sanctuary design and technology consultant from Alexandria Covenant Church consulted on the project at no cost.
